1- Detroit Hoedown Detroit's Downtown Hoedown is a free country music celebration each year in May. The Hoedown features a terrific ensemble of today's current stars, and past festivals have seen the likes of Tanya Tucker, Sawyer Brown and Mark McGuinn. This free event is held in the Rivertown area at Hart Plaza.

0- APBA Gold Cup, Powerboat-racing event on the Detroit River This is a powerboat-racing event on the Detroit River. Held in mid-summer, the tournament hosts antique boats as well as the racing boats. Qualifyfing heats are all day Friday and Saturday morning; races follow on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. General admission seating is available at Chrysler/Henderson Park and Memorial Annex Park, but you can see the races for free from the public beach on Belle Isle.
