- Archaic Opera - Combining gothic elements along with progressive and ambient undertonesStarted in 1997, Archaic Opera looks to bring new life to a dying music scene.
Bored with the "popular" music of the last few years, Archaic Opera has set out to build their own unique sound from the ground up. Originally started as a solo project for keyboardist/songwriter Roger Haworth, it has quickly blossomed into so much more. With the addition of guitarist Brent Zurla in January of 1998, Archaic Opera has now begun the odyssey so many musicians fail to complete. While the music is as diverse as the influences of the individual artists themselves, it holds it's own against some of the biggest names the music industry has to offer. Combining gothic elements along with progressive and ambient undertones, the music is fresh and exciting while remaining commercially viable. - Robb Roy, Detroit Modern Rockers, create music that showcases their talent for crafting big beautiful songsLong regarded as one of the city's best bands, Robb Roy released their 4th CD "Days of Pride & Hunger" in October 2003 (on PURE Recordings). The 14 song enhanced CD also features the video "What If" by Director/DP, Kevin Carrico, who has worked with the White Stripes. With the release of "Days of Pride & Hunger", Robb Roy have reached deep into their storied history to put together 14 tales of wonderfully crafted modern pop-rock gems. The follow up to their popular release "Happy", finds the band exploring a musical landscape steeped in tradition, while looking ahead towards where the modern rock music of tomorrow is headed. With the help of veteran Detroit producer, Jason Kuehn, Robb Roy has fleshed out the very best in Pop, Rock, and even a bit of Americana that influenced them as budding musicians. Robb Roy show their love of rock in songs like, "Goodbye", "Battlelines", "Hole", and to the city where they cut their teeth, "Hamtramck". Their pop side shines through on "As I Am", "We", and the Beatles inspired "I Sleep". It's the leanings towards Americana though, that pull at the listener's heart. "Roll On" is a lush drive through the countryside of one of America's most treasured roads in search of contentment. "Scrapin' By" asks the question, "Are you the man you hoped to be?" At the very core of it all is the title track, "Days of Pride & Hunger". In this song the band warns, "Don't lose yourself to the past. Cherish the road and don't look back. It's not the end, but how you arrive". Arguably, this is one of the most powerful songs Robb Roy has written to date.

- Sponge, One of My Favorite Bands from DetroitSponge has proven to be one of the Motor City's heaviest hitters after gaining international notoriety with 1995's debut album "Rotting Piñata." Emerging out of Detroit with hits like "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)" Sponge received massive airplay on radio stations from coast to coast and were in heavy rotation on MTV. After "Rotting Piñata" went Gold, the band toured internationally, sharing the stage with Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Live. Sponge was also a featured artist at Lollapalooza in both 1995 and 1996. The band stood out as one of the 1990's most charismatic live acts. Front man Vinnie Dombroski's powerful voice, heart-on-his- sleeve lyrics and stage presence captivated numerous audiences and still continues to bring down any house he steps in. Sponge's follow up CD to Rotting Piñata, the critically lauded Wax Ecstatic included the hit songs "Wax Ecstatic" and "Have You Seen Mary?" They followed up with their third release New Pop Sunday and several Soundtrack and compilation appearances. Sponge's Idol Records debut, For All the Drugs in the World, is a swirling sonic attack that has it's roots in the classic rock of Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones, 70's glam and of course, the Motor City influences of The Stooges, The MC5 and Motown-but at the same time sounds like nothing else....

- Mr. Deadman - Detroit metal has been a staple to each member of Mr. Deadman for nearly our entire lives. There is eloquence in suffering. As we search for contentment, day after day, we find that we remain totally unfulfilled in satisfying our unquenchable thirst for satisfaction. We must remain in a state of constant chaos, stranded in a state of flux between our dreams and the mundane reality of life as we attempt to reach our goals. Simply by setting unachievable goals, we attain a paradox like level of accomplishment. It is understandable then that we never accomplish anything and we are totally unaccountable due to the fact that no one can pull off what we are trying to pull of. We gain sympathy with even the affirmation of a weeping face lets us see some results of our actions. We are gaining sympathy in herds. Look at how beautiful he is in his madness, I wish I could help him, he is suffering so.

- Maybe June - Detroit’s best kept secret you could say, but the rumors are spreading fast.Maybe June is a rock band (we thought we would clear that up right away). What that means to them is…rules don’t apply, they play whatever strikes them as moving, in a stomp your feet, bounce off your neighbor, arms in the air shaking your rear sort of way. They are convinced they were an arena rock band in a past life, an alternate reality, or maybe before the collective amnesia of the entire concert going culture. So far they have stayed under the radar…Detroit’s best kept secret you could say, but the rumors are spreading fast. Like the one about the bass player having one of the actual amps from the movie Spinal Tap, or the one about the key player being able to play three boards at once. Some are even more outrageous, like the one about the singer levitating over the crowd, or the drummer playing with a bass pick and the bassist playing with drum sticks. The bands standard “no comment” response to these rumors fuels speculation.
