- Woody Washington A Special Guitar Player from DetroitWoody Washington is the best thing to come out of Detroit since Motown! His sound comes from years in the recesses of the music industry. Woody has played in pit orchestras in Las Vegas at the Riviera Hotel and other famous Vegas landmarks. He has played with the likes of Ray Charles, Dorothy Moore and Millie Jackson. Woody has also opened for Anita Baker, The Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" tour, Melissa Etheridge, Smokey Robinson, Earth Wind and Fire, Jefferson Starship, Barry White and Chante Moore, The Motown Greats Tour including the Temptations, The Four Tops and The Spinners. Woody has played many large venues in the southeastern Michigan area. Venues like the large outdoor amphitheater Pine Knob and the premier indoor arena the Palace of Auburn Hills, home of the Detroit Pistons. He has also played for corporations as varied as Chrysler and The Detroit Institute of Arts. He is always appropriate for whatever the venue. Woody's amazing talent can be heard whether he is playing acoustic guitar as a strolling minstrel at a restaurant, as an acoustic accompaniment to dinner during your companies next retreat, or with his band belting out his originals or covers of classic R&B and Jazz tunes. Woody is truly a Renaissance man among musicians.

- Phil Treais, a folky-groovetron soundWhen asked about why he sings, the great John Lee Hooker remarked, "’cause it’s in me and it’s got to come out!" When asked why I write music, I can think of no better explanation. What I write about is influenced by what others say and do and by events large and small – and even by my dreams. It is how those things hit me…touch my inner soul and creative juices to elicit a melody or feeling that will later become part of a song. You would probably laugh if you ever saw the pile of scrap papers on my dresser that I have accumulated. Each one bears a word, phrase or part of a story that I heard throughout my day that seemed unique – or just struck a chord in me somehow. Anyway, I’d like to share with you what I was thinking about as I wrote each of the songs on this first CD. But I expect you to reach inside yourself and let each song hold its own special meaning to you and your spirit.

- The Chris Canas Blues RevolutionBlues music will always be with us. In order to reach a wider audience, however, it needs ambassadors to carry it to new and younger fans. Often that requires innovative interpretations of the music. One young musician leading the quest for these new horizons is Chris Canas. ~ WolfGang Spider - Action Detroit. Chris Canas and The Revolution were nominated for two DMA Awards. "Outstanding Songwriter" and "Outstanding Group"

- THE CURTIS SUMTER PROJECT - "THE WORLD'S HARDEST WORKING BLUES BAND"The Curtis Sumter Project is a five piece high-energy, Chicago style blues band. Curtis Sumter formed the band in 1992. The original members of the band were Curtis Sumter on drums and vocals, Ron "The Commissioner" Latham on guitar and vocals, and Daniel Speight on Bass. Within the first month of the creation of the group, they picked up a then 19-year-old guitarist, "Motor City" Josh Ford and vocalist Cathy Davis to complete the group. After three months, Daniel Speight decided to leave the band to enhance his musical skills by entering a music school. That’s when the group picked up Paul "Big Daddy" Baker to play bass guitar. In 1996 Motor City Josh left the band to formed his own group "Motor City Josh and The Big Three". Cathy Davis left the group in 1998 and later form her group "Cathy Davis and the Soul Searchers". After an injury to his hand, Curtis Sumter moved from behind the drums to fronting the band. The temporary move to the front became a permanent one as the audiences went wild for the new look and sound of the group. They created a new sound, which can be thought of as "Buddy Guy meets Carlos Santana". The group, unlike most blues bands, presents themselves as a full show, to be watched as much as listened to. Curtis Sumter uses every inch of the stage in his shows and when the stage isn’t big enough, he uses the entire room as his stage. The current members of The Curtis Sumter Project consist of Curtis Sumter on lead vocals and percussions, Rich Hwang of vocals and guitars, Joe Veloz on bass, Jim David on Keyboards, and Dave Watson on drums, vocals and percussions.

- Sax Maniacs - Best Sax You'll Ever HaveThe Sax Maniacs are a four piece band that perform regularly around the Detroit area playing classic rock, funk, soul, oldies and new coversfrom current artists. Our style is a cross of beatnik type super-cool SAX numbers like Peter Gun, Honky Tonk and Summertime to classic rock and Motown hits like Chain of Fools, Shotgun and lots of James Brown. We incorporate the swinging sound of the SAX with a jumping rhythm section and Stevie Ray/Jimmi Hendrix type guitar provided by local guitar hero, Steve Dansby. Jon Martin, a BLUE ROSE alumni, provides incredible bottom drive that helps Joe Bruglio on the TAMA drums bring the beat to new heights of excitement.
