- Larry Fratangelo's Brother Angel ProductionsThis organization, founded and operated by Larry Fratangelo, assists with the scheduling of concerts, recording sessions and associated product support. LARRY FRATANGELO, percussionist, has recorded and toured with some of the top recording artists in the world today. His name appears on Gold, Platinum and Grammy award-winning albums. Larry has performed at the White House and for the British House of Parliament. He has performed with the Boston Pops, at the Grammy Awards, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies, on the David Letterman Show and Saturday Night Live. A graduate of Michigan State University, Larry is currently producing several World Music projects. JA Franco, Vocalist and lover of Brazilian music, is signed as one of Brother Angel's recording artists. Her diverse vocal background has taken her to the ultimate in her debut CD project, Passion of My Soul, which embraces its listeners with slow, sultry sounds of Jobim and Gilberto. Click here to read the review from jazzreview.com. Her interpretation of many of the delightful Bossa Nova favorites establishes her as a great artist as she sings with creamy vocals and with true adaptation of what the songwriters intended. Ja explores the world of Brazilian Jazz in Portuguese, Italian, and English. She has been given kudos as Favorite Jazz Vocalist Michigan Radio, and for Outstanding Jazz and World Vocalist in Detroit's Music Awards! Combining nearly a century of drumming experience and knowledge, Larry Fratangelo's all-percussion group, Drum Devils, keeps the tradition alive while exploring the future. There are no pre-recorded sequences nor is there any pre-programmed music with Drum Devils - it's all created live - sounding like much more than three percussionists - like a band - an orchestra - or something new!

- James JamersonIn August 1999, James Jamerson was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for his legendary bass line artistry in contributing to Motown Records' endless hit record successes in the music evolution of the 60's. When speaking and/or writing about that 'day in time' (the 60's musical revelations), James Jamerson and Pop music are as synonymous to music legend as Little Richard & Chuck Berry are to Rock n Roll, and as are The 5 Keys & The Moonglows are to doo-wop singing. I could go on, but I must elaborate on Jamerson. As the 60's music scene arrived, the original style and sound of the electric bass had already been pre-empted and made famous or at least interesting in jazz by Monk Montgomery and Muscles Swanston. Rock artist such as Bill Haley & The Comets and the smooth/pop music by groups such as The Flamingos were seen with the instrument. Keep in mind that the early 60's were still showing a heavy 50's music concept that ultimately changed quickly as Berry Gordy's Motown Record Company in Detroit began to achieve multi-chart space with hit record after hit record ...Jamerson after Jamerson!

- Dorothy Ashby American jazz harpistCritic Scott Yannow writes, "There have been very few jazz harpists in history and Dorothy Ashby was one of the greats. Somehow she was able to play credible bebop on her instrument." There had been jazz harpists prior to Ashby, like Adele Girard, but no one else had adapted the harp to jazz so successfully nor had integrated into such a broad array of musical styles. Her influence certainly opened doors for later jazz harpists like Deborah Henson-Conant, Andreas Vollenweider and Carol Robbins.

- Leo Kretzner, quintessential mountain dulcimer playerI’m glad to finally be writing something for this fine web site! The past few years for me have been very busy and full of challenges. I have kept playing and doing a little performing, but I haven’t had time for more writing, recording, and traveling - until now! I hope to make this the first of a series on Rhythm.
Lois had asked me to write an article of hand coordination exercises for mountain dulcimer players on rhythm, but these should also be of value to hammered dulcimer players.
