0- Detroit Craft Mafia The Detroit Craft Mafia strengthens, unites, and promotes Metro Detroit's DIY community. It does so by encouraging local crafters to form their own companies; by helping those companies share the information and resources they need in order to thrive; and by introducing Detroit's community of crafty entrepreneurs to the rest of the country via the nationwide network of Craft Mafias.

0- Handmade Detroit Simply put, Handmade Detroit is a loose collective for people who like to make stuff. Fancily put, we believe in the unique value of handmade goods, the act of creation and good old community building. We believe that anyone in Detroit who hems a pair of pants, knits a gift for a friend or sells their handmade goods is helping to redefine sustainability, consumerism and the future of our city. We also produce the Detroit Urban Craft Fair, an indie craft fair with over 50 vendors in August, Sunday Crafternoon, a monthly mini-fair in the ‘burbs, and the Handmade Detroit Holiday Market in December. Our future goals include a physical place to encompass many kinds of Detroit creative types, which would include workshops, studio space and a store front. We are always looking for new ways to connect, share, collaborate and create with others. Events are posted on our web site and we encourage everyone to come out and meet up with us.
