The Northville Lions Club is one of over 44,000 local clubs in the 1.4 million member strong Lions Clubs International. Lions Clubs International is the oldest and largest service organization in the world. Each club's immediate focus is on the needs of the community in which it is organized. While each independent local club has its own charter and traditions, the Lions orgainization permits Lions to combine to provide service and support to many projects in the metropolitan Detroit area, the State of Michigan, the United States and internationally.

Detroit Summer is a multi-racial, inter-generational collective in Detroit, working to transform ourselves and our communities by confronting the problems we face with creativity and critical thinking. We currently organize youth-led media arts projects and community-wide potlucks, speak-outs and parties.

0 - ARISE Detroit!
is a coalition of community groups in Detroit, banding together in the hopes of making a bigger impact than they each can accomplish separately. ARISE is an acronym for Activating Resources and Inspiring Service and Empowerment. The coalition is a way to link together the hundreds of programs and agencies working on child and family issues – anti-violence, parenting, illiteracy, education, drug, neighborhood development, youth mentoring, etc. — to produce more resources, more volunteers and more help for the people who need it. ARISE will create a massive community wide movement, supported by people, non-profit groups, the media and individuals, to offer hope and let people know that they can play a personal role in improving their communities.

0 - The Voices of Detroit Initiative (VODI)
With a population facing the highest percentages of tooth decay and oral cancer in the state of Michigan, Community Voices of Detroit is working to expand access to oral care by expanding the definition of what oral care is and who should be an oral health care provider. The Voices of Detroit Initiative (VODI), a collaboration of Community Voices and several area hospitals, is training primary care physicians to evaluate the oral health of their patients and allowing uninsured and underinsured people to access oral health care through primary health centers that are part of the social safety net.
