REPORT THIS LISTING 1 - ZeitGeistDETROIT - Detroit
Welcome to The Zeitgeist: Founded in 1997 and still going! GALLERY HOURS: Friday 5 - 8pm, Saturday 12 noon - 5pm, and by appointment. Just a mile from Detroit's beautiful abandoned Train Station on the outskirts of Corktown, The Zeitgeist Gallery and Performance Venue's vision is as rare, raw, and unexpected as the city itself. In 1997, Troy Richard bought the former Michigan Gallery to open a venue for the works of experimental playwrights. Along with producing classic avant-garde plays as well as original works, half the Zeitgeist space became a venue for art just as invested in the experimental. The Zeitgeist Gallery was inspired by the late Jacques Karamanoukian: artist, thinker, art dealer, humanitarian. Karl Schneider, a painter and sculptor, operated the Zeitgeist Gallery until 2001, when James Puntingam became curator.

REPORT THIS LISTING 0 - 101up Gallery - Detroit
Line returns from the edge as incision. I welcome him to my newfound rectangular island home. Formalist sentinels stalk my intuitive energy kin. I trace six styles backwards and press them in a space-time, man-machine, sandwich. Utilitarian patterning jumps off armor, rugs, and plates to join me in embracing their now primary function.

REPORT THIS LISTING 0 - 4731 Gallery - Detroit
4731 has been around for some time. We didn't invent the genre of the studio arts building, but we certainly did help it flourish. One of our greatest accomplishments has been to do our part to bring the arts community together. If one of us succeeds, we all succeed. It hasn't been easy, and we have evolved over time to the point where we have a great group of artists in the building that are drawn together by their common need for good creative space. The city still needs to learn how to support artists, and we still need our market to expand, but we are here, creating artistic expressions of our talent, our experiences, and our lives.
