Since our inception in 1998, Community Legal Resources’ volunteers have contributed an estimated $6,200,000 in pro bono legal services to over 600 nonprofit organizations building affordable housing, attracting new businesses, feeding and sheltering the homeless, and mentoring youth throughout Michigan.

- Neighborhood Legal Services Michiganorganization of its kind offering non-criminal legal advocacy, law-related education and supportive services for individuals and families. Abused or homeless persons, children, people with life-challenging illness, and seniors who qualify receive services free of charge. Workers and retirees may also qualify to receive reduced fee, non-criminal services through NLSM. To break the cycle of homelessness, NLSM pays budget counselors and partner agencies to provide counsel and case management services, security deposits, childcare, and essential items for eligible families. NLSM also contracts with local companies to assist victims of crime with emergency home security repairs.
