The success of the residence hall program depends directly upon student commitment to self and to the residence hall community.

We provide information and resources to students, faculty, and staff of the University of Michigan who do not reside in the residence halls or U-M Northwood Community Apartments. "Off-Campus Housing" refers to any that is not University-owned or operated. This service helps U-M students, faculty, and staff find housing and provides ongoing resources and support during the length of their housing stay. These pages contain rental listings, conflict resolution services.

Founded in Detroit in 1817 and moved to Ann Arbor in 1837, the main campus of the University of Michigan spans over 2,800 acres, with 208 major buildings on four primary areas: Central Campus, North Campus, Medical Center, and South (athletic) Campus. Our campus housing system is the 6th largest in the United States and includes the 3rd largest family housing operation. There are 16 residence halls ranging in size from 75 to 1,350 residents with a total of 5,524 rooms. Approximately 9,700 students reside in our traditional residence halls.

0 - University of Michigan-Dearborn Housing Referral Services
The housing referral service is available to all students, faculty or staff in search of an apartment, house, room or roommate. Interested individuals should complete an application, available in Counseling & Support Services (C&SS). If you are in search of roommate, the information on your application will be shared with other individuals seeking a roommate. All applications will be kept on file until C&SS is notified that you are no longer in search of housing.
