- Stormy Records - DearbornStormy Records has been open for 8 years. We opened the store to fill a necessary void in the Detroit area. We created an outlet for all the odd and unusual music that we like to listen to ourselves, and that we knew other people would like to hear but were having trouble finding. Stormy Records specializes in what we like to call "weirdo music" – hard to find specialty items on independent labels. We carry virtually no major label releases, but you can come here and find psychedelic rock from places like Japan, Turkey, Britain, and Finland. You can buy death metal colored vinyl lps from Norway and Brazil. We have beautiful drones, ambient electronica, modern composers, noise and experimental music. We carry currently issued vinyl lps of both independent bands and reissues of 1960's rock n roll and avant jazz.

- Submerge (Detroit)When Submerge re-opened in 2002, our second floor space was designated the 'Metroplex Room'. The idea was to have a space where the thoughts and inspiration behind Detroit's electronic music scene could be discussed and experienced outside of the typical club environment. In the past 2 years, the room has hosted a private screening with Jeff Mills and his Metropolis project, a panel discussion with Juan Atkins, Anthony Shakir and Keith Tucker, a University of Windsor lecture featuring Underground Resistance's Cornelius Harris and Techno Rebels author Dan Sicko. Sam Greenlee, author and producer of the 1972 film The Spook Who Sat By The Door, also hosted a screening of his historic film in the space. The Metroplex Room has also had it's share of intimate parties including Mr.De's birthday party and an impromptu celebration of the life of Laura Gavoor.
