Every day, the Community Foundation is helping individuals, businesses, nonprofit organizations and other foundations meet their charitable goals. We are privileged to facilitate the philanthropic spirit in southeast Michigan. As stated in our mission, The Community Foundation exists in perpetuity to enhance the quality of life of the citizens of southeastern Michigan.

0 - McGregor Fund
The McGregor Fund is a private foundation organized "to relieve the misfortunes and promote the well-being of mankind." It was established by a $5,000 deed of gift from Tracy W. McGregor in 1925. Later it was augmented to nearly $10 million through subsequent gifts from Mr. McGregor and his wife, Katherine Whitney McGregor.

0 - The Skillman Foundation
The chief aim of the Foundation's three program areas is to help develop good schools and good neighborhoods for children. The Good Schools and Good Neighborhoods program areas are the primary focus of the Foundation's grantmaking. The Good Opportunities program area is set up to support the Foundation's primary work and to invest in special opportunities that can accomplish significant results for children. Though we make grants throughout Southeast Michigan, the bulk of our grant dollars will be spent in six Detroit neighborhoods - Southwest Detroit (Vernor and Chadsey-Condon), Brightmoor, Osborn, Central, and Cody-Rouge - and on innovative and successful schools throughout the city of Detroit.
