The sun is shining and the summer is upon us which means it's time for one of the highlights of the Alumni DECA year. That's right kids, the Summer Picnic is just around the corner. The picnic will begin at 2:00 p.m. As always, there is loads of fun in store. Be sure to bring your bathing suit because you will inevitably be thrown in if you don't come prepared! The picnic is a great time of year were we can all get together and celebrate the year. We always have an amazing time hanging with friends and making new memories each and every year at the picnic. The cost of the picnic is $5 to help cover the cost of food.

Public Act 479 of 2006 signed into law by Governor Granholm on December 21, 2006, provides up to $4,000 to high school graduates for successfully completing two years of postsecondary education beginning with the high school graduating class of 2007.

-H involvement leads young people to explore various career and educational options after graduating high school. For those who choose to further their education, Michigan State University, Michigan 4-H Youth Development and the Michigan 4-H Foundation offer scholarships to help support these 4-H'ers' educational goals.

0 - Michigan Engineering: Scholarships for Prospective Students
All new students are considered for merit-based scholarships offered through the College of Engineering after formal admittance into the University. No separate application is necessary since consideration is based upon the academic and extracurricular information listed on your application for admission (NOTE: The Gloria Wille Bell and Carlos R. Bell Scholarship, the Joseph M. Geisinger Scholarship, and other external scholarship opportunities listed below DO require a separate application, because they have specific criteria the donors of the scholarships were seeking when the scholarships were established. Many of the external opportunities have scholarship committees that exist outside of the College of Engineering).

The first was that people seemed to assume that I was African until they heard my American accent and even then I found my identity contested. I ended up in a very heated discussion with a British gentleman in Scotland when he said to me, "Oh so you're an American but where did your family come from?"

University scholarships are competitive and are awarded based on available funding. Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not ensure students will receive an award. Students may receive no more than one of the following scholarships: Presidential, Regents-Plus, Regents, or Recognition of Excellence.
