0 - Michigan Commission on Disability Concerns History
The Commission staff provide a variety of education and advocacy services, technical assistance for both federal and state disability civil rights laws, as well as a statewide information and referral service on a wide range of disability issues. The Division on Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DODHH), located within the Commission, has three primary functions. The DODHH serves as an advocate for the deaf and hard of hearing population of the state, offers state qualification of interpreters, and provides a variety of technical assistance services.

0 - Michigan Rehabilitation Council
is a consumer driven, Governor appointed, statewide organization as mandated in the federal legislation, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. The Congress created the Council to ensure that citizens have a mechanism to utilize as they advocate and advise the agency in their respective state (which provides vocational rehabilitation services), on how effective its policies, programs, and services are in meeting the needs and desires of persons with disabilities.

Disability Network/Michigan is a collaborative organization representing 15 Centers for Independent Living (CILs) throughout the state. We facilitate collective work among our members; resulting in a strong and essential statewide voice striving to meet the needs of the 1.9 million people in Michigan who have a disability.

We serve thousands of individuals with disabilities through a multidisciplinary network of service providers and consumers. In order to reach as many people with disabilities as cost effectively as possible, we target our services and publications to libraries, disability organizations, independent living centers, rehabilitation facilities, educational institutions, and health and social service providers.
