- Military Family Relief FundIn the Fall of 2004, the Michigan Legislature passed, and Gov. Granholm signed into law, the Military Family Relief Fund Act. The Military Family Relief Fund provides grants to qualifying families of military members in either the Michigan National Guard or Reserves who are called to active duty as a result of the national response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

A nonprofit 501(c)3 founded after September 11, Operation Homefront leads more than 4,000 volunteers in 31 chapters nationwide. Since its inception, Operation Homefront has provided critical assistance to more than 45,000 military families in need.

Using contributions from supporters like you, Operation Uplink purchases phone cards and distributes them to servicemen and women who are separated from those they care about.

Make a contribution to The American Legion’s Legacy Scholarship Fund for children of service personnel killed in action. Donate blood. Purchase a flag or yard sign to display proudly in front of your home. Post a message thanking those in uniform for their courage. Organize a prayer vigil at your church for our president and military. Volunteer at a VA hospital. How you show your appreciation for our troops is up to you.
